Six of Wands — Spiritual Message of the Day
For today’s post, I would like to refer back to, and expand a bit upon a prior blog post, Gratitude and the Tarot Sixes. In that post I mentioned that prayer is best expressed as “a pledge of gratitude for what has already been received,” which is a quote I found in a daybook called The Book of Awakening by Mark Nepo. Another way of considering this is expressed in this quote from Michael Berg: “Appreciation is the vessel for future blessings.”
The Tarot’s Six cards all express messages of reciprocity—giving and receiving—so they are also about appreciation and gratitude. The Six of Wands suggests gratitude for the encouragement and inspiration that other people give you. On a higher level, it can be about having appreciation for the encouragement and inspiration that the Divine shines upon you. And on an even higher level, it urges gratitude for the encouragement and inspiration that the Divine shines upon all of us, which implicitly acknowledges that we are all one. But any one of these perspectives can suggest a prayer or affirmation that you can use today.
