Ask KnightHawk — Looking for New Love

November 3, 2010

Dear KnightHawk,
Having split with my last partner 12 months ago, I am now starting to think about looking for a new partner and would like to find out “What do I need to know to find a new relationship?”
Looking for Love

Dear Looking for Love,

Thank you for requesting this reading about your love life.  Here are the cards I dealt to answer your question:

Strength -- Tarot of the Masters . Youth of Wands -- Tarot of the Masters . Three of Cups -- Tarot of the Masters

Card 1 (Major Arcana Card for Spiritual advice) – Strength
Card 2 (Court Card for traits to develop or emphasize) – Youth of Wands
Card 3 (PIP card for suggested action) – Three of Cups

My first impression of these cards is that they reflect the general message of a famous quote by Meher Baba: “Don’t worry; be happy.”  More specifically, though, the individual cards in this reading give the following messages, which support this impression.

In the Tarot of the Masters Strength card, we see Circe who turned men into beasts, and vice versa. The consequent advice that I see here is for you to realize that relationships are not threatening; there is no real danger there.  This is because it’s up to you whether you see potential partners as beasts or not.  It’s how you perceive them that determines what they become in your life because you manifest what you believe. (For a more in-depth explanation of that, see the book, The Law of Attraction.)

Youth of Wands:

What I see in the Youth of Wands is a message to focus on and manifest these positive traits:  Be friendly, trusting, and enthusiastic, and regain a sense of excitement and wonder about love.

Remember that life is an adventure. Its safety is never guaranteed, but when you live it fully, it is exciting and wonderful. So this card is telling you to consider what you truly desire in your relationships and to regain some initiative about that by rediscovering your youthful exuberance and passion about relationships.

Three of Cups:

My first impression from this card is that there is someone with whom you are already friends that has “relationship potential” for you. Or perhaps this is an indication that it is through your friendships that you will find a suitable partner, but in either case, the advice of this card is to turn to your friendships to rediscover love in your life.

Eight of Wands -- Tarot of the MastersI also see (based on the Three of Cups’ contra-positive card card, which is the Eight of Wands) that when you do that, things will develop quickly on the relationship front for you.

To help you in this situation, I would like to leave you with the following affirmations, which are adapted from my book, Tarot Affirmations. (You can read more about using affirmations with Tarot cards in a prior blog post.)  Feel free, of course, to pick and choose among them and to adjust them to suit yourself.

The first affirmation is based on the Strength card:
I always look for the best in other people.

The next one will help you manifest characteristics of the Youth of Wands:
I am friendly and eager to meet new people.

The final two work well with the message of the Three of Cups:
I am blessed with many supportive friends.
My happiness grows whenever I share it with friends.

Bright Blessings,
