The Emperor — Spiritual Message of the Day

March 26, 2011

“Life is what happens to you while you’re busy making other plans.” – John Lennon

Emperor -- Tarot of the MastersDo you have big plans for your life? Do you have set ideas of what should be and what should not be happening in your life? Well, all those plans can keep you from experiencing your life just as it is in this eternal moment of Now. (The present moment is eternal because it is always Now.)  I’m not suggesting that you need to throw out your plans for your life or that you shouldn’t make such plans. However, our preparations and arrangements for life often get in the way of actually experiencing our authentic life.[1]

Try this for just one day: live without plans to see what that’s like. Take a vacation from the stultifying Land of Should. You can think of it as a mini-staycation. (You probably don’t want to choose a work day to do this.)  Just do whatever comes up instead of what you think you should do. This doesn’t mean you need to lounge around all day in your pajamas doing nothing, although if that’s what you feel like doing, go for it. What it does mean is letting you heart and intuition tell you what to do for a day instead of being a slave to the clock, to convention, and to your plans. Eat when you’re hungry, not when it’s the “right” time to eat. Give yourself permission to make a meal of pancakes and scrambled eggs in the evening instead of in the morning. Wear socks with your sandals if you want to. Skip the six o’clock news and watch a cartoon instead. Play fetch with your dog (or cat!). Spend the day doing what you feel like doing and (here’s the really important part) live in the moment.

    Good evening James,
I hope you don’t mind me calling you James. I am sorry for taking so long to get back to you. You had made a post on my blog (Witches Of The Craft) and wanted to know if I would like to discuss the different views on this card. It was very rare that we both had the same Tarot Card of the Day. I have did quite a few readings with the Tarot Cards but I prefer to use the Runes. I am sure you are familiar with them. I made a set of them and the experience was unbelieveable. The Runes have a mind of their own, nothing like the Tarot. I guess it depends on which one calls to you. I also believe that you and I can draw the same card and come up with a different meanings. When I use the Tarot, the cards seem to speak to me. Do you find that to be the case with you?

You know I got to thinking, if you do a daily card I could run over here and borrow your post, lol! Hey it would make my life much simplier. I appreciate you stopping by my blog. I hope you visit quite often. I must run for now. I hope you reply sooner than I did. Again I am sorry about that.

Good night to you and Goddess Bless,

    Lady A

    • Hi Lady A,
Oh yes, I’m quite familiar with Runes, and since I created my own Tarot deck I understand how you feel about creating your own Runes. And yes, when I pull a CotD I do generally get a sense of knowing what its message is and I just transcribe it. Well, I do edit it and such to make it nicely readable as well. 😀
Thanks for stopping by to comment!
      Bright Blessings,
      James
