Justice — Spiritual Message of the Day

April 5, 2013

“Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.” — Martin Luther King, Jr.

As its name suggests, this card is often about justice. Whether it’s in terms of laws, ethics, or morality, we generally have a pretty good understanding of what’s right and wrong, but we don’t always act upon that awareness. Sometimes it seems easier to avoid getting involved if we are not directly impacted by an injustice. We may decide that we can let others take care of it, or we might bury our heads in the sand and ignore the problem since we think it’s not ours. But through our shared humanity, it is our problem too. This does not mean that we have to join every crusade that comes our way. However, it does mean that if we see an injustice and we can do something about it—even if it’s just one small act—we should, for whenever we tolerate or accept injustice in our midst we lose touch with our humanity, one little bit at a time.

If you enjoy these words of spiritual advice from the cards, you will love my book, The Soul’s Journey: Finding Spiritual Messages in the Tarot.
