A Christmas Spread of giving

December 7, 2013

It is now less than three weeks before Christmas, which in our culture means it is the season of giving.  (Of course, one might also cynically call this the season of shopping.)

For this holiday season, I have created a spread that you can use to help you choose your gifts, but it is about giving of your heart rather than giving material things.  So, for example, the Ace of Swords might suggest giving someone your undivided attention more often, the Five of Pentacles can indicate that you should assure them that you will stick with them, for better or for worse, and the Chariot might ask you to help them achieve success in an endeavor that is near and dear to their heart.

The cards are laid out in three rows. There is one card each in the top and bottom rows, and there are several in the middle row, one for each of several people who are dearest to you.

Christmas Giving spread

Here are suggested positional meanings:

The card in Row One: What can you give the world to make it a better place?

The cards in Row Two:  What can you give the people you care about in order to express your love and share the joy of life with them?

The card in Row Three: What can you give yourself to enrich your own life?

Feel free to leave comments about your experiences using this spread.
