Pithy Tarot meanings — The Devil

July 31, 2014

Demons (Devil) -- Tarot of the MajorsThe Devil
Doing a bad thing is not the same as being a bad (i.e., evil) person.
We all do bad things now and then; it does not mean we’re evil. But sometimes we live in guilt, thinking that we are evil, and sometimes we judge others as evil based on bad things they have done. This card urges to understand the illusion of this equation of bad actions = bad people, both for ourselves and for others.  For more about this, there is a great article by Deepak Chopra on Oprah’s website.
