What does the Eight of Cups mean?

June 1, 2015

Eight of Cups -- Tarot of the MastersHere is a pithy meaning for the Eight of Cups:
“Parting is such sweet sorrow.” — Shakespeare (Romeo and Juliet)

There is a subtle, sorrowful feeling to this card. Hopefully, when it comes up in a reading, we can help the querent find a way to incorporate that sorrow into their lives in a positive, meaningful way. I think that’s part of the positive side of this card that balances the sorrowful side — growing and moving on after the sorrowful parting.
