What does the Page of Cups mean?

June 2, 2015

Youth of Cups -- Tarot of the MastersHere is a pithy meaning for the Page of Cups:
The mysteries of love seem unfathomable, but explore them anyway.

This pithy meaning suggests taking time to really consider a few deep questions about the mysteries of love, although the first step is to admit that you don’t really know all that much about love.  Consider, then, these questions:

* What do you think love really is?
This question isn’t nearly as simple as most of us think.  Consider, for example, this pithy meaning for the Lovers card: Love is a verb. Love, the feeling, is the fruit of that verb. See also one of my spiritual Tarot meaning for the Two of Cups, which discusses the difference between love, the feeling, and love, the verb.

* How can you truly and deeply love yourself?
Note that a lack of love of self is often a source of other problems we have with love and relationships.

* What do you want from love, and what are you willing to do for it?
This question (or pair of questions) can lead you to a very long discussion with yourself!
