What does the Eight of Swords mean?

June 8, 2015

Eight of Swords -- Tarot of the MastersHere is a pithy meaning for the Eight of Swords:
Painful thoughts that our minds keep repeating are like a rut in a road that we keep falling back into.

It’s important to realize that this is not something you should blame yourself for or beat yourself up about. Instead, see it as a problem you can overcome.  As soon as you realize that you have slipped into this sort of rut, open your eyes (i.e., your thoughts) to other things in the world.  It can help to have a beautiful memory ready to return to.

Although it takes some effort to get out of that rut, it’s well worth the effort.
