What does the Ten of Wands mean?

August 4, 2015

Ten of Wands -- Tarot of the MastersHere is a pithy meaning for the the Ten of Wands:
Don’t swat flies with a sledgehammer.

You may be wondering how I got this pithy meaning for the Ten of Wands.  It is based on a numerological interpretation of the number Ten (overkill) and an elemental interpretation of the suit of Wands (effort).

Ten of Swords Tarot eCardsPS: Some people might make an argument for assigning this meaning to the Ten of Swords (especially if they are basing it on the image on the RWS card). If that’s what works for you, go for it.

  1. I really enjoy your pithy quotations! Will you continue to add to them and eventually update your Kindle version of Pithy Quotations? I hope so!

I love your work and own all your books, both as physical copies for ease of reference and as digital copies via Kindle for portability. I think your writing on the Tarot is very clear without sacrificing complexity. I rate your books as some of the best on the Tarot along with Pollack, Greer, and Place.

Thank you for your work. You’ve taught me, and others like me, a great deal.

I’m glad I’ve now found your site and your FB page.

    Peace,
    Brad

    • Hi Brad,
Thank you! I’m glad you like my pithy Tarot meanings and are finding them helpful.
I am continuing to post them, but after doing so many, I’m starting to slow down a bit. Yes, I plan to update the Pithy Tarot eBook eventually with new pithy meanings. I have done that before, and hope to do it again soon although I’m not sure when the next update will be.
Also, I’m happy to hear that you have (and like) all of my books… and thank you for the complements on them. (Tell all your friends, ok? 😉 ) Pollack, Greer, and Place are about the best Tarot authors out there, so rating my work in that pantheon is heady praise indeed.
      Bright Blessings,
      James
