What does the Strength card mean?

November 28, 2015

Strength -- Tarot of the MastersHere is a pithy meaning for the Strength card:
Courage and fortitude come in many unexpected forms.

Here is how I came up with this pithy meaning:
I recently passed by an old woman walking along the street pulling a small cart with a bag of groceries.  (Here is a related image, to give you a visual to go along with this.) She was 80 years old if she was a day, and she reminded me of the fact that strength, courage, and fortitude come in many, many forms. Truly, we rarely talk or even think about the bravery and fortitude of the elderly, but for many of them, everyday tasks that the rest of us take for granted (like going to the store to get a bag of groceries) require a great deal of strength and courage. We should respect and honor them for that.
