What does the Five of Cups mean?

December 18, 2015

Five of Cups -- Tarot of the MastersHere is a pithy meaning for the Five of Cups:
Don’t be afraid of someone else’s grief.

Sometimes we are fearful or hesitant to spend time with someone who is in the grieving process. Perhaps we think we have to fix things for them, or maybe we don’t think we have the requisite skills to comfort them. But we don’t need to fix things, and it’s not our responsibility to make them feel better. Usually, all we need to do is be there with them and listen when they want to talk. That is often all they need from us.
