What does the Devil card mean?

June 28, 2016

Demons (Devil) -- Tarot of the MajorsHere is a pithy meaning for the Devil card:
Sometimes your only real choice is “the lesser of two evils.”

I thought this pithy meaning would be rather appropriate at this time. As we (in the US) are entering the final round of our election cycle, this message can be of interest to some.  I sometimes hear people say that they aren’t going to bother to vote because “the lesser of two evils is still evil.” I find that to be a rather glib excuse to avoid making a hard choice.  Sometimes our only viable choice is “the lesser of two evils,” and avoiding that choice means we might end up with the greater of two evils.
