What does the Devil card mean?

September 15, 2016

Demons (Devil) -- Tarot of the MajorsHere is a pithy meaning for the Devil card:
“Evilness” arises from not being aware of our connectedness with everyone else.

This pithy meaning was inspired by an abbreviated passage from A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle —

If evil has any reality, this is … its definition: complete identification with form – physical forms, thought forms, emotional forms.  This results in a total unawareness of [our] connectedness with the whole, [our] intrinsic oneness with every “other” as well as with the Source.
