What does the Seven of Wands mean?

October 6, 2016

Seven of Wands -- Tarot of the MastersHere is a pithy meaning for the Seven of Wands:
Beware of “crab mentality.”

Crab mentality basically means “if I can’t have it, neither can you.” The metaphor refers to a bucket of crabs. Individually, each crab could escape, but instead they grab at each other in a useless “king of the hill” competition that prevents any from escaping and ensures their collective doom. In human behavior, members of a group may attempt to negate or diminish the achievements of any member (out of either envy or spite) to halt his or her progress, thus ensuring their collective stagnation.
