What does the Sun card mean?

November 2, 2016

The Sun -- Tarot of the MastersHere is a pithy meaning for the Sun card:
“There’s nothing new under the sun.” — Traditional

This familiar proverb, excerpted from Ecclesiastes 1:9, has taken on a meaning of its own beyond its original biblical intentions. It can say that although you think your problem is unique, surely it has happened to other people as well. And even though you think you have created something new, it probably has been created before. This proverb also may simply be saying that life is cyclical. More cynically, it indicates a world-weary sense of the monotony of life.
