What does the Five of Pentacles mean?

February 7, 2018

Five of Coins / Pentacles -- Tarot of the MastersHere is a pithy meaning for the Five of Pentacles:
We tend to assume that our friends have the same financial resources that we have. That’s not always true.

This pithy meaning was partially inspired by an episode of “Friends” in which three of the friends (the ones of limited means) complained that the other three kept suggesting fun things to do that were too pricey. This message was reinforce recently by a post on Facebook by a friend who lamented that her doctor suggested a therapeutic course of action that would have financially burdened her since her financial situation was so dire. The doctor could not understand why she balked at the provided solution because to him (with his much greater resources), it was no big deal.
